Great leaders should always be open to feedback and work with the team. Attached is a funny meme of what NOT to do as a leader.

A great leader is able to take initiative to move projects forward and motivate others to do the same. An even greater leader is someone who can observe the situation/environment, listen to others, and motivate them to be leaders as well!

My current real estate broker and mentor has been teaching me about servant leadership, which has been interesting to learn about. Wiki defines it as ‘Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy in which the goal of the leader is to serve. This is different from traditional leadership where the leader’s main focus is the thriving of their company or organization.’ I think this approach helps to define the culture of our small business.
A great leader leads by example. They work the hardest and aren’t afraid to do what it takes to get the job done. I never ask my employees to do something I wouldn’t do or that makes me uncomfortable.
The thing that makes a great leader is the person themselves. Putting themselves into everyone’s position.

I’d say communication is key! A good leader will make his her goals known & relay feedback - both positive & negative to help everyone achieve the goals in place. When someone knows exactly what is expected, it makes it easier to achieve.

I believe a great leader is one that teaches through action. Someone willing to get in there and do the work. An attitude of “let’s do this” instead of “you do this”. I also think it’s important for a leader to show appreciation to their employees and mentor them to become better at their job.

I think a great leader is someone who listens and values their team members as people. They are willing to help when needed, offer suggestions for improvement, and be a great support.
Innovation and the ability to plan ahead
I think a good leader is someone who supports there team, listens and is approachable…also a good leader isn’t afraid to get in the trenches when busy or help is needed and dig in! A great leader makes you feel part of the team, your voice matters… not just a number!
